Sharon Beattie
Sharon has worked in adult education for over 12 years and has always had a special interest in reading, writing and other literacies. She worked as a home tutor for the Adult Reading and Learning Association then began training as a teacher of English as a second language. She has taught in universities, high schools, community colleges and private training organisations and now runs the Lake Wanaka Language Centre. She has an MA in Applied Linguistics.
Sharon feels passionately about the power of literacy and the right of everyone to access it to reach their fullest potential. She loves working with adults and helping them to identify their goals and create a plan to reach them. She is just as comfortable working with native English speakers as with second language learners.
